1.  The weather. With an average of 300 days of sunshine per year, Austins weather can't be beat!

2.  Lady Bird Lake and the hike and bike trail. This stretch of the Colorado River is a popular spot for walking, biking, picnics, concerts, peddle boats, canoeing, kayaking, riverboat rides, and people watching.

3.  With over 100 live music venues, and home of SXSW, Austin is the live music capital of the world.

4. Speaking of music, Austin is home to the popular PBS series Austin City Limits, and host to the annual Austin City Limits music festival.

5.  Barton Springs, an artesian spring-fed swimming hole located minutes from downtown in Zilker Park, is a great place to cool off during the hot Texas summers.

6.  Congress Avenue bats. The Congress Avenue Bridge is home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats depart nightly at sunset, April through October. An awesome sight.

7.  The University of Texas. The largest public university in the nation. Including the infamous UT tower, which was recently reopened to the public for tours after 25 years.

8.  Lake Travis. You can boat, sail, water ski, windsurf, swim, fish, picnic, or just soak up some rays.

9.  6th Street. The heart of Austin's entertainment district, home to numerous clubs, bars, restaurants, and shops.

10. The city's motto: Keep Austin Weird!
